Join us at Golden Hills Community Church on Christmas Eve for one of our annual Candlelight Services! We will sing Christmas songs of worship and hear from God’s Word as we celebrate the birth of our Savior!
Our first service will be inside the Sanctuary at 7:00 pm. Our second service will be outside on the Plaza at 11:30pm. Please bring your own chair and wear something warm!

For many of us, Chanukah prompts warm, loving memories from our childhood. We light the Menorah every night of the 8-night holiday. These lights offer warmth, joy, strength, inspiration and renews our sense of identity.
This year, Chanukah begins at sunset on Wednesday, Dec. 25th and ends at nightfall on Thursday, Jan. 2nd.
Rabbi Peretz Goldshmid, director of the Chabad of the Delta Jewish Center, describes Chanukah as “a holiday that enriches our lives with the light of tradition. In ancient times our ancestors rededicated the Temple in Jerusalem with the Menorah. Today, we rededicate ourselves to making this world a better and brighter place.”

Are you guys keeping score!? Tally two more for the good guys! ARMED CARJACKERS IN CUSTODY!
Thursday night, Dec. 5, 2024, at 6:15pm two victims were sitting in their vehicle in downtown Antioch when two brazen bandits forced them from their vehicle at gunpoint! The uncouth characters fled in the now stolen vehicle. What the two brainy bandits didn’t know is the vehicle had LoJack tracking capabilities.
During the chase, speeds reached 112 miles per hour on Highway 4.
K9 Kona and her leash holder located the vehicle on 18th street and gave chase. Luckily our buddies at Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office have a sweet little helicopter and they happened to be out for an evening cruise! The suspects fled to Bay Point where a platoon sized force of Antioch PD, Pittsburg PD and Contra Costa Sheriff’s deputies were waiting. The two suspects were both arrested fleeing from the vehicle!
On a “don’t commit crimes” side note, one of the suspects broke their ankle hopping a fence. They were cleared at the hospital and booked!

The Harvest Carnival is our annual family event designed to serve our community by providing a safe and fun space for families to spend Halloween. We will have candy, food trucks, candy, games, bounce houses… and more candy!
We will have delicious food, drinks and treats available for purchase from our amazing vendors: Straw Hat Pizza, Boondoggies and The Bubble Hive!
At admission to the Harvest Carnival, there is a suggested donation of one sealed bag of individually-wrapped candy per child, but we do not want this to keep you from coming!
Guidelines:
Costumes: • No costume masks for Middle School age and above. • Middle School age and above may not wear/hold props that can be easily mistaken for a weapon.
Acceptable Props (for Elementary age and below): • Props like plastic lightsabers, toy swords, etc., are allowed as long as they are a part of the costume theme.
Costume Guidelines: • Costumes must be family-friendly—not objectionable, offensive, or violent.

I am writing to clarify the situation of a political flyer that has been distributed including a photograph of Jovita Mendoza and myself. In my position as a Priest of the Diocese of Oakland, the Pastor of St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish of Antioch, and the Lead Chaplain for the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, I am not allowed to support or endorse any candidate for public office nor give the impression that I do so. The flyer in question gives the impression that I do support Jovita Mendoza for public office, and it is not true. My consent and permission to make use of my photograph for that flyer was never sought or given.
More than a week ago, I sent her an email requesting that she revoke the flyer and clarify that she used my photograph with her fraudulently to suggest that as the fire chaplain (and possibly a priest) that I do in fact endorse and support her effort to win a seat on the Brentwood City Council. Nothing could be farther from the truth. I write to you today to make sure that my parishioners, the members of our diocese, and the citizens of East County that I have not
violated the directives given to me by both my Bishop and the Fire Chief. My hope is that this incident would give the citizens of Brentwood pause as to who this person really is and her disregard for ethics, professionalism, morality, and fitness for the position she seeks.

On October 15th, at approximately 11:00 PM, the Pittsburg Police Departmentissued a BOLO (Be on the Lookout) for suspects involved in an armed robbery, reported to be carrying a handgun and an AK-47 rifle.
Around 1:30 AM on October 16th, Antioch PD responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of 320 W 20th Street. Officers encountered a white Chrysler 300 and observed a suspected controlled substance in the vehicle. During the investigation, two individuals were detained, and officers discovered a fully loaded AK-47 rifle and a Glock handgun with an extended magazine. Another AK-47 rifle was found in a backpack.
Pittsburg PD arrived and confirmed the suspects as those involved in the robbery and recovered the stolen necklace from the robbery. Pittsburg PD took custody of the suspects, their vehicle, and the firearms.
Thanks to outstanding police work, three dangerous weapons were taken off the streets!
