Antioch 16-year-old Rebecca Boyer has been missing from home since March 29th. According to her parents, she may be with her boyfriend who is over age 18. She has experienced two head traumas in the past three years, from a pool diving accident and an amusement park ride, which also caused a heart murmur.

The Antioch Police Department is excited to announce the 70th installment of the Neighborhood Cleanup Program. This is a collaborative community effort which involves active participation from the Antioch Police Department, Crime Prevention Commission, Neighborhood Watch Program, Volunteers In Police Service, community volunteers and the Public Works Department.

Collectively, “We”, everyone who works and lives in the City of Antioch, can make a difference and improve the quality of life. It’s our community and it’s our chance to make a difference.

The City of Antioch Neighborhood Cleanup program is not just for residential neighborhoods. It is a program that will change venues on a monthly basis and it will include business and commercial areas as well. Neighborhoods that are free of trash and refuse are inviting, and a clean community instills a sense of community pride.

The 70th Neighborhood Cleanup event will occur on Saturday, May 7th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Volunteers will meet at the Live Oak School parking lot. We will be cleaning the neighborhoods between G and F Streets from 17t to 11th Street. See map, here:  CityCleanUp70

This is still very much an active investigation. However, the following is additional information that was confirmed since last night’s press release. Yesterday morning at about 8:51 p.m., Antioch officers were dispatched to the McDonalds on Mahogany Way on a report of shots fired. Officers at this scene learned that a Hispanic male shot into the business with a shotgun, shattering several windows, and then fled in a white Chevrolet truck. A male inside the business was struck by the gunfire, but suffered only minor injuries.

About 15 minutes later, Pittsburg Police was notified of a shooting into a residence in the 1200 block of Beacon Street. Witnesses said a Hispanic male fired at least one shot from a shotgun into a front window of a house at this location, and then fled in a white Chevrolet truck.

Officers from both jurisdictions began working together and were able to identify a suspect. They also determined through shared information that these two incidents were more than likely related. Antioch officers located the suspect’s girlfriend and confirmed she was employed at the McDonalds on Mahogany Way and has relatives who live at the home on Beacon Street. She was safe and unharmed, and was not at either location at the time of the shootings. Information obtained from this interview suggests the motive of these shootings was a domestic dispute.

At 5:52 p.m., Antioch officers were notified of a carjacking report taken by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. Initial information was that this carjacking took place in Bay Point, but it was later learned it actually took place just off of Highway 4 near the Martinez/Crockett area. In this case, a Hispanic male pointed a shotgun at the 17-year-old victim and stole his 1998 BMW. The responsible left behind a white Chevrolet truck, and was last seen heading eastbound toward Pittsburg/Antioch.

It does not appear this victim has any ties to the suspect or the domestic dispute.

At 6:11 p.m. an Antioch officer spotted the carjacked BMW, which lead to the pursuit, crash, and exchange of gunfire between the suspect and officers at the intersection of E. Leland Road and Loveridge Road. The suspect was taken into custody when he dropped the shotgun and surrendered to officers. He was later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for attempted murder of two police officers.

One of the officers on scene was shot in the head during the exchange of gunfire, but his injuries were not life-threatening. He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and has since been released. The officer is currently doing well and expected to make a full recovery.

There is still significant work to be done on this case, and a number of interviews that need to be conducted. Because of this, we are not yet releasing the name of the suspect or officers involved.

On May 4, 2016 at about 5:52 p.m., Antioch Police were notified of a carjacking that took place in Bay Point. In that case, a victim reported to Contra Costa Sheriff’s deputies that a Hispanic male armed with a shotgun had just stolen his black BMW and was last seen heading eastbound towards Pittsburg/Antioch.

At about 6:11 p.m., an Antioch officer spotted a black BMW being driven by a Hispanic male in the area of W. 10th Street and Verne Roberts Circle. The suspect vehicle fled from the officer and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when the suspect and officer crashed into a street light, at the intersection of E. Leland Road and Loveridge Road.

According to sources, the officer was shot in the head by the suspect. The officer was then airlifted to John Muir medical center in Walnut Creek. Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando confirmed that the officer was indeed shot in the head and is expected to survive. The majority of the police units on the scene were from the Antioch Police Department.

As officers approached, the suspect began shooting and struck one officer. Officers returned fire. The suspect was not hit but surrendered and was taken into custody without further incident. The suspect is not being identified at this time.

The officer was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries and subsequently released. The officer is not being identified at this time.

This case is being jointly investigated along with the Contra Costa County DA’s Office, the Contra Costa Crime Lab, and Pittsburg PD. No further information is being released at this time.

Assault with a deadly weapon

On Wednesday, March 4, 2016 at approximately 10:51 am, officers from the Antioch Police Department responded to a call of shots fired at the McDonald’s located at 2424 Mahogany Way. When officers arrived, they found a male victim in his 20’s with minor gunshot wounds. The victim was an employee who was near the window when the suspect, also in his 20’s, fired a weapon from the parking lot.

The male suspect fled the area driving an approximate 2000 model white Chevy pickup westbound on Mahogany Way. No other persons were injured and the victim did not require medical treatment. The shooter and vehicle are still outstanding.

The shooting is not believed to have been random and the victim does not appear to have been the intended target. Currently, officers are following up on possible leads and interviewing witnesses.

No other information will be released at this time. This incident is still under investigation. According to an ABC TV Channel 7 news report and an individual who contact the Herald, the Antioch Police are investigating a shooting at the McDonald’s on Mahogany Way in Antioch, today.

“According to authorities, the incident occurred at 11 a.m. on the 2000 block of Mahogany Way when a driver in the drive-through shot out three windows at the restaurant.

One person was treated. It was unclear if that person was transported to the hospital.
There was no word on if the suspect was caught by authorities,” the news report stated.

IN-CUSTODY for Murder and Attempted Murder, Thomas John Williams, Jr.

In a 5:02 p.m. press release, the Antioch Police explained what occurred and released the names of the victims and suspect, in the Monday morning homicide at the QuikStop convenience store at the corner of West Tregallas and Lone Tree Way.

The victim in this case has been identified as Antioch resident, 27-year-old Cynthia Flores-Crose. Flores-Crose was in a previous relationship with suspect Thomas Williams, Jr. Williams had a heated exchange with Flores-Crose outside the Quik Stop before following her into the store and shooting her.

The store clerk, Thomas Payne, was also shot by Williams when he tried to intervene but is expected to survive his injuries. As stated earlier, Williams was arrested in front of the Police Department a short time later. He is currently being held in the Martinez Detention Facility for murder and attempted murder.

On Monday morning, at approximately 7:11 AM, Antioch Police Officers responded to a report

of a shooting at the Quik Stop Market at 2760 W. Tregallas Road at the corner of Lone Tree Way. The officers arrived to find an adult female victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

A short time later, the male suspect in this case, a 34-year-old Antioch resident, was taken into custody without incident in front of the Antioch Police Department. According to a VIP who heard the police call, the suspect turned himself in and according to Mike Burkholder of eastcountoday.net, the suspect drove himself to the police facility. According to the team from Channel 2 News the car was a dark blue or grey Dodge Charger, being driven by a Hispanic or white male with a black semi-automatic weapon. Burkholder, who saw the car at the police facility, confirmed the suspect’s vehicle was grey.

As of 8:30 AM, the body of the 27-year-old Antioch victim was believed to still be inside the store.

A close friend of the store owner, who owns another convenience store in Antioch, showed up on scene and was told by the police that the employees are OK. But one clerk was shot in the arm. They also said the owner of the store, who was also on the scene at that time is OK.

According to a neighbor of the clerk, in an on-the scene Channel 2 TV News interview by Anchor/Reporter Brian Flores, it was a domestic dispute and he “stepped in to help the lady.”

“The woman was shot by her partner,” the neighbor also stated.

A second victim, a 27-year-old adult male Antioch resident, believed to be the clerk, was also on-scene, when police arrived, suffering from a gunshot wound. This second victim was transported to a local area hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

This case is currently being investigated by the Antioch Police Department Investigations Bureau. The police are in the preliminary stages of this case, and no further information will be released at this time.
