On Thursday, November 8, 2012 at approximately 8:30 PM, a 44 year-old male victim arrived at an area hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. It was later learned that the victim was shot in front of a home at 50 W. 18th Street. Officers responded to that location and found evidence confirming a shooting had occurred there.

Life saving efforts were performed on the victim at the hospital, but he later succumbed to his injury. The incident is currently being investigated by the Antioch Police Department.

On Thursday, October 25, 2012 at approximately 9:00 p.m., Antioch Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Sycamore Drive. Both victims were located on Peppertree Way with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Evidence at the scene indicates the incident occurred near 2112 L Street. No suspect information was able to be obtained during the preliminary investigation.

On Monday, October 22, 2012, Antioch Police Detectives who were following leads they developed, located and arrested two adult Antioch residents for the murder of a 26 year old male that occurred on the previous Saturday. The arrest took place without incident and evidence linking them both to the crime was located and collected.

On Wednesday, October 24, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges on 45 year-old Sean Brown and 41 year-old Sonya Joseph for the stabbing death of 26 year-old King Gregory Carroll on Saturday, October 20. Along with the murder charge on Brown, he has also been charged with two enhancements, (3 strikes and personal use of a knife.)

Antioch Police Investigators believe the killing of Carroll was in retaliation for a fight earlier this month between Carroll and Brown in which Carroll won. Since then, Brown and Joseph dwelled over the loss of the fight and actively pursued retaliation. During the late night hours of 10/19/12, Joseph and Brown located Carroll at the Manzanita Dr address and a fight ensued in which Brown stabbed Carroll numerous times with a large knife.

When Brown and Joseph were arrested, they were found to be in possession of evidence linking them both to this crime which included a large knife that is believed to have been used in the killing.

On Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 12:44 p.m., the Antioch Police Department responded to a suspicious circumstance in the 2200 block of Manzanita Way. Officers arrived and located the body of a 26 year old male who is the victim of a homicide. The victim is an Antioch resident.

His name is not being released pending notification of family members. Detectives have been called out and are investigating. This information is preliminary as the police are in the beginning stages of their investigation.

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at approximately 8:40 p.m., Antioch police received a report of a carjacking that occurred at a local restaurant. Two patrons of the restaurant were assaulted by a male and female in the parking lot as they were attempting to leave. After the assault, the responsible stole the victim’s vehicle. The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Approximately an hour later a citizen notified Antioch police that a vehicle matching that of the victim vehicle was involved in a solo accident on Contra Loma Blvd., in Antioch. After the collision the driver was seen getting into a separate vehicle and fleeing the scene.

Pittsburg police located that second vehicle in their city and pursued the vehicle for a short distance as the driver fled to avoid arrest. The driver lost control, crashing into a street sign and vegetation at the intersection of East Leland Road and Loveridge Road in Pittsburg.

Isidro Gali was a passenger in the pursuit vehicle and identified as the male half of the carjacking. He was placed under arrest by Antioch Police. Pittsburg Police handled the disposition of the driver of that vehicle for their own on view charges related to the pursuit.

The investigation is ongoing and no further arrests have been made up to this point.

Gali has an extensive criminal history to include convictions for auto theft, burglary, willful discharge of firearm, and DUI. Gali was booked into the Martinez detention facility on charges of Carjacking and Possession of Stolen Property.

On Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m., Antioch Officers responded to the area of Auto Center Drive and Mahogany Way, for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival officers located the victim of a gunshot wound. It was learned that two subjects got into an argument over a “Road Rage” incident that began on Delta Fair Blvd and Somersville Road.

The passenger of one of the vehicles exited his car and challenged the other driver to a fight. When the other driver exited his vehicle, the passenger opened fire with a small caliber handgun. The responsible vehicle fled the scene and was not located. The victim suffered two minor non-life threatening wounds and was treated at the scene.

Detectives from the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff are continuing to investigate a double homicide that occurred yesterday in a county area on Buchanan Road near Ventura Drive in Pittsburg.

The male victim has been identified as 24-year-old Christopher Zinn of San Francisco.

The female victim has been identified as 21-year-old Brieanna Dow of San Francisco. The cause of death for each of the victims is gunshot wounds.

On Sunday, October 14, 2012 at about 5:25 PM, Sheriff’s dispatch received a report of shots-fired at the above location.

Pittsburg and Antioch police responded and found Zinn and Dow on the roadway. Zinn was pronounced deceased at the scene. Dow was taken to Sutter Delta hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Detectives and the Crime Lab responded to the location.

No suspects or motive have been identified in this shooting. The Office of the Sheriff is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying any suspects in this case. Anyone with any information on this case is asked to call (925) 313-2651. Anonymous tips can be left at 1 (866) 846-3592.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, 2012, several residents at an apartment complex in the 700 block of H Street, were on a balcony that overlooks H Street when gunfire erupted from the street below. The residents fled inside in an attempt to take cover.

While trying to get back in the building, one of the residents was struck twice by small arms fire. The victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he is being treated for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. Police recovered approximately 20 spent bullet shell casings in the street in front of the apartment.
