On Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at approximately 5:11 p.m., Antioch Police Officers were dispatched to the J and W. 9th Streets for a report of shots fired and at least one subject struck by gunfire. Upon arrival, officers located Timothy Crabtree, a 22-year-old male from Antioch, in a nearby apartment suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male was conscious and taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment. We located two locations where it appeared shots were exchanged between the two gunmen.

Witnesses in the area provided detailed information regarding the shooting. Within a short period of time, we learned the victim may have been involved in the shooting and actually returned fire before being struck. One handgun was recovered from the scene as well as numerous casings. Eventually a second victim, Michael Johnson, a 24-yearold male from Antioch, showed up at a local hospital and was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.

After the shooting, witnesses reported seeing some people involved in the shooting run into another nearby apartment. At this location Officers found Alvin Crane, a 29-year-old male from San Pablo, hiding in a bathroom. Crane was found to be in possession of a firearm, 21 baggies of cocaine, along with marijuana and evidence of sales.

Crane was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for drug possession and sales and several charges relating to being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held on $275,000 bail.
