Antioch police arrest teen in Sunday shooting

On Wednesday, January 28, 2014 at approximately 5:46 PM, Elijah Hill, 19 years, was arrested by Antioch Police Officers and Detectives for the attempted homicide of a 33-year-old Antioch resident. This attempted homicide appears to have occurred after an argument in the Jack in the Box parking lot, 4801 Lone Tree Way. The Victim is considered to be in Critical Condition.

Hill was sent to the Martinez Detention Facility. Antioch Police Detectives will be seeking attempted Homicide charges later in the week.

Antioch man shot multiple times at Jack In The Box on Lone Tree Way, Sunday afternoon

On Sunday, January 26, 2014 at approximately 4:07 P.M., Antioch Police Officers responded to 4801 Lone Tree Way (Jack In The Box) on a report that a subjecthad been shot. The victim, a 33-year-old Antioch man, was located there and appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. The case is currently being investigated.

No suspect information is available at this time.

Motorcyclist seriously injured in Antioch accident, Saturday evening

On Saturday, January 18, 2014 at approximately 5:00 P.M., the Antioch Police Department responded to a report a motorcycle collision in the 1900 block of Calaveras Circle. When officers arrived, they found the solo male rider in the street with major injuries.

No other vehicles were involved and the 48-year-old male rider was not wearing a helmet. The rider was transported to an area hospital by ambulance in critical condition. The cause of the collision is currently under investigation and it’s not known if drugs or alcohol were involved at this time.

Man barricades himself in Antioch apartment, Saturday, surrenders without incident

Earlier today, at approximately 10:17 A.M., the Antioch Police were dispatched to an apartment in the 2100 block of Peppertree Way after a resident called from work requesting a security check of their apartment as their alarm was notifying them of an open front door. When officers arrived, they observed a male inside the apartment who abruptly shut and locked the front door barricading himself inside.

The homeowner indicated that nobody should be in the apartment, so a perimeter was set up around the apartment building. Officers were ultimately able to make verbal contact with the male inside who stated he lived in the apartment. After talking with the male, he peacefully surrendered himself and was taken into custody. Indicia and personal property was located inside the apartment belonging to the male indicating he may have standing in the apartment.

No further information (including the arrested party’s name) is being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.

Bicyclist dies after being struck by car in Antioch, Wednesday

On January 15th at approximately 5:39 P.M., the Antioch Police Department received a report of a collision that occurred between a vehicle and a bicyclist at the listed location. Upon officers arrival they found the bicyclist, a 21-year-old Antioch resident, down in the street. Medical personnel arrived on scene to find the bicyclist suffered head and leg trauma. The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Witnesses advised that the bicyclist was traveling north bound on Auto Center Drive and crossed the intersection of West 18th Street against the red signal. The other party, a 70-year-old Antioch resident, was traveling west bound on West 18th Street and had the green signal as they crossed Auto Center Drive. The names of the involved subjects are not being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, the victim died of his injuries.

Antioch police discover large marijuana grow during suspicious house fire, Monday

A large marijuana cultivation operation was discovered in Antioch on Monday.

On Monday, January 13, 2014 at approximately 9:08 PM, Contra Costa Firefighters (Confire) responded to a residence in the 4500 block of Hidden Glen Drive on a report of a house fire. They arrived to find an electrical box and inside wall of the home on fire, which they were able to quickly extinguish. No one was home at the residence; however, evidence of marijuana cultivation was found inside.

Antioch Police Department patrol officers responded to the location with Confire and were able to confirm a large scale marijuana cultivation operation.

Investigators were called in and ultimately seized approximately 960 marijuana plants from the home along with marijuana cultivation equipment. The case is still being investigated by the Antioch Police Department’s Special Operations Unit.

Antioch police present kidnapping case to DA, multiple sex charges filed against Douglas

On Wednesday, January 8, 2014, Antioch Police Detectives presented a case to the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and formal charges were filed on 42-year-old David Douglas of Antioch for the Kidnapping of a 7-year-old Antioch resident. Douglas was charged with the following:

PC 209 (b) (1) Kidnapping For Sexual Purposes with the Use of a Deadly or Dangerous Weapon

PC 288 (b) (1) Forcible Lewd Act Upon a Child with Enhancements

PC 209 (b) (1) / 664 Attempted Kidnapping For Sexual Purposes–Three (3) Counts

PC 311.11 (a) Possession or Control of Matter Depicting Person Under 18 Years in Sexual Conduct (with Enhancements)

Douglas’ bail has been set at $7,150,000.

The Antioch Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident and will not be answering any further questions regarding this case at this time.

Two guys rob Pizza Guys in Antioch Monday

On Monday, January 6, 2014, at approximately 10:39 p.m., two males entered the Pizza Guys restaurant located at 1100 Sycamore Drive and robbed the clerks at gunpoint. The suspects fled with an undetermined amount of cash and after an extensive search, they were not located. No one was injured during the incident.
