Man with gun shot by Antioch Police officer, early Tuesday morning

The Antioch Police Department and the Contra Costa County Office of the District Attorney are currently investigating an Officer Involved Shooting. At 12:33 a.m. on Tuesday June 28, 2016, Antioch Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic violence call in the 900 block of West 8th Street.

When the officers arrived they were confronted by a 56-year-old male Antioch resident armed with a firearm. Shots were fired by the police and the male was wounded. The suspect was transported to an area hospital and underwent surgery. The suspect is in stable condition at this time. No officers were injured.

This investigation is in its early stages and no further information will be released at this time.
